I Got Locked Up!

SOMEBODY [me looks at GAM suspiciously :shifty:] locked my thread....


i didnt realize that there was a RULE to when u can umm... "celebrate" (if u wanna call it that).

i wasnt celebrating my 400 posts. who celebrates 400? i mean... its wierd... its like giving away a $7971.32 prize instead of $5000 or $10,000.
i basically wanted to make my vow public of posting 100 in a week... :shrug:. i guess some people just don't like that.

(please dont lock this one up too... seems like GAM's are goin "thread-lockin crazy" these days)

Sorry DNS, this one's pretty cut and dry. Your thread hinted at a post count celebration, which the post verified. It's no big deal man getting your thread locked is a part of the learning experience of community regs. It happens to the best of us.

And oh yeah, posting 100 times in a week might help your post count, but it won't help you get respect around these parts, lemme tell ya. Just don't do it.

i think eSDee is hinting at a couple things:
1.) the GAMs really do not like people who are obviously trying to hit a certain posting target. and if they see you doing it, they will most likely either penalize you or give you a time-out or something

2.) most people here don't want to read utter crap that has no meaning and is only being posted to increase someone's post count. generally, people who do so end up being looked down on, and not respected. of course, one person's definition of crap is another person's definition of a good post.....

imo, your best bet is to just be smart and post when you have something to add to the discussion. think about whether anyone else would want to read what you're about to post. btw, i don't think you have a problem.....you seem like a good poster. i just would strongly advise changing your posting style, which fits in fine right now, just to try to hit some arbitrary post number.

but that's all just my opinion. feel free to ignore it; i'm just trying to give you a little background information before you end up in trouble with GAM or something ;)

no no... all suggestions welcome and appreciated. i still think im a n00b so i know i get looked down on already.

to tell u the truth i hadnt thought of just goin around postin up random stupidity that has nothin to do with the thread i'm posting at. i dont THINK i've been doin that, and somehow i went from 300 to 400 in a lil over a week. it just seemed strange to me that i was posting that much. basically, i'm on here all the time since im at school a lot, and what better thing to do besides work? visit g|a? of course.

but thanks for the input, and i "retract" my vow. u guys wont be seein me reachin 500 by monday. so better get out that hose and start whippin. :)
