Well this kind of sucks

Well here's the story. As many of you know I'm moving into a new home soon. Anyways... I cleared it with the construction supervisor that I could install surround sound wiring before the drywall gets installed. So I spend about 6 hours doing so this past week and today I go by to check on the progress of the house and what do I find???

Someone came by and stole/ripped out of the wood frame about 1/2 of the wiring I did. I was thinking wait a minute... something doesn't look right here. :duh:

Supposedly some nearby neighborhood vandals come by from time to time and scavenge newly built homes for these types of things. Really lame if you ask me. But what am I to do. I am going to try to figure out what day the dry wall is to be installed and then install the wiring once again the day before. If I ever find these kids... they'll wish they thought better of doing this to my house.

I am contemplating sleeping over in the house a couple nights with my trusty louisville slugger close by to welcome any "guests" in the wee hours of the night.

is there any kind of insurance coverage on the house that protects you from that kind of stuff?

nope... since the house is not in my name yet... still in the building company's name. also since I am doing it myself I can't ask anyone but me to replace the stolen items

if there was any sort of equipment that you purchased with credit cards, you can try to run it by the CC companies. Sucks to hear. :(

same sh*t happened to the house i am living in now. kids pissed on the carpets in the middle of the night. they also put holes in some of the walls.

that really sucks....you know what would be funny? you should set up a black light like right above your door one night and stay there with the light on. And if you see the kids come again, you can jump out from behind the door and yell "Behold! I am your King!" and then bash their legs and then they'll leave you alone, oh yea one of the more important parts of this would be that you would have to wear all white :)

You can also use that trick for laser tagging :) i'm one smart guy

You might wanna submit several copies to various agencies anonymously.
You could take credit but paybacks a witch.

Remember that vid with those kids busting up the that house. Got|$100,000.00+ cuz that's what the parents had to reimburse the home owners.

That's actually a great idea! so when they try to sue and the lawyer asks who took the louiseville slugger to their knee, all they can say is, "our king." the lawyer will be baffled and confused! BWAHAHAHA!
