Banned at YDF!

Can you believe it? I've been banned at the Your Daily Freebies board for speaking my mind. And all it took was 2 little comments. My, my, my, you can't even speak your opinions over there!! Say one little negative thing, and POOF you are outta there!!

I think it's crappy how the site owner has everybody bullied into paying her membership fees, and donations, and now she has a YDF store, and her own auctions. All proceeds go to 'support' the board, because otherwise, she says, the board will sink, because it costs more than a grand a month to keep it up and running. It just makes me sick that all of those nice people over there are so blind to her tactics. Fine-----let them pay her their money!! But why would they, when anybody can come here, or to FatWallet, or to a myriad of other freebie boards and fine the same deals without having to pay membership fees and be pressured for donations!

I don't care that I've been banned. I quit posting there a long time ago. So it doesn't matter to me. The YDF board is the only freebie/deals board I know that insists on membership dues, and donations, and whatever other scheme they can come up with to make the owner money. How shameful!!

got|apex and passwird both have a much better interfcae and content than that place. I have never heard of it until you said you got banned. The webmaster is full of it by telling you it costs allot to run the site

I wish I COULD give you guys the URL for the YDF threads I made, but they deleted everything almost as fast as I could throw it at 'em. They banned me, then I found a security hole in their chat section, got in and posted like a fiend. I was complaining about the site owern's money - making schemes------- she is claiming that all of these membership dues and donations are necessary and vital to keep the board running. She has them all bullied into believing her too. Donations are pouring in....

Today, the chat section is totally down; I guess they are trying to figure out how I got in, and how to keep it from happening again.

several years ago I was posting to a low carb list..
and the owner was an admitting angry acoholic. I didn't realize there where other groups I could have joined because I was new to the net back then. Well I mentioned on the list I would pray for someone
who was so upset over something and the list owner sent me a message he was going to ban me, he not only did that but because I told the group good bye.. he sent a message to abuse@hotmail (I was using hotmail email way before microsoft took over) that I was spamming and hotmail believed him and cancelled my email address immediately. When I contacted hotmail they continued to take the owners side. I can't tell you what an awful feeling that was. Learned a real good lesson too...

Right after 9/11, I was looking for sites regarding the Rapture. I found a site that had really good world news within a forum.
Well, the site was an extremely fundamentalist, legalistic Christian site which thought that long hair on guys, short hair on women, non King James versions of the Bible and rock and roll music were awful.
Some guy commented about contemporary Christian music and that he was part of a band that played it. Although the moderator thought he was a tool of the Devil, some of the readers, including myself supported him. It wasn't too long before each of the readers, and then myself were kicked off of the forum.

The reason some Christian groups are called legalistic, it's because they will take a concept or a verse in the Bible, and build a religion out of it, if that's what you want to call it. Thirty years ago, I went to a Church that spent more time on silly issues like the ones I mentioned that I decided to get out and go to one that emphasized the more important issues. What a relief!!

Missy, Johnny, thank you for sharing your stories. It is amazing what can happen on the 'net. I have never had a problem with any until YDF decided I was causing too much trouble by asking too many questions, haha. Funny, I couldn't believe it----- they were telling me I had SOME NERVE to be poking around, asking the owenr how much it cost to run that board.

At first, I was only asking out of curiosity. But when the replies started coming in, and they were quite nasty, I got suspicious that the money part was TOP SECRET for some reason. It only made sense the owner was lining her pockets off donations, etc. So being banned can happen anywhere it seems.

But to be dropped from a support group, or a religious one, well that is just plain hurtful I'm sure. Just remember---- there are always 20+ other sites out there for what you are looking for. YDF MIGHT THINK it's Number One, but it is falling from the ranks.....

No, that wasn't me. Somebody else, using AOL, must have tried to register there. Apparently, people who use AOL are being screened first, before their registration is accepted. Something is going on with AOL because a lot of people on that board are having trouble accessing the board, if they use AOL. I think it has something to do with AOL being proprietary. But that message above--- it wasn't for me.

But it seems so unfair to that person, to be denied just because of their ISP!

AND, for some reason, the YDF'rs think I own this other freebie board, which I DO NOT------ I only moderate there. I don't own it. They have everything screwed up!!!

Well I had my account deleted,I was catching pure hell@ from a person who may or may not need a straight jacket@-@,don't want to ever find out! and had had it when we were no longer allowed to delete old posts,I did not know if I had any old stuff leading the obsessed person to me so i asked to be deleted.When told it was SO much trouble I commented that I did not know if it was legal or not to not be allowed to delete my own words.One post was a poem.Anyhow I rejoined under another name,which I thought was ok,since I wasn't banned,had no problems at all for a while:D until I mentioned it was ME:D then all of a sudden no posting ,trades,or pm's for me anymoreLOL

LOL! I managed to join under three other new usernames before they caught on, hahahahahaha! Don't you KNOW I caused trouble then? As much as I could, before they caught me, har har. Now, I'm under another name, but I'm restricted because I can't post, or view the chat board, but I CAN email members if they have an email link. I cannot, however, get PM's or anything else. I really think the mods are a bunch of a^^kissers!

I email members all the time and warn them about how the board will dump them if they even breathe a word about how things are fun over there. It's really sad. I used to be a big part of that board, for YEARS, and I contributed a lot! What gets me is how ignorant everyone is about how Sheri is making TONS of money on her links and stuff, yet the mods and her try to say that it costs her triple when someone even VIEWS a post! It makes me so mad! Am I the only one that realizes she has like 4 other websites, and that she makes money every time a qksrv link is clicked on? SHEESH!

And if they would have let you delete your own old posts, then they would not have had to complain about how much *work* you caused them for having to delete them themselves! *WORK* hahaha, it's not like hard labor!! :heh: That is exactly what I went through. Digging up old threads like this can show you just how much G|A? can change in a year. I don't recommend doing it, but it can prove interesting. Just be ready for DF to set you on potato duty if you do :P
