i dont remember the site or what i did but the maglite finally came today. anyone else recieved such luck? the case says SAS, i assume it was some survey for SAS company.

Yes, I somehow got two of the maglites in the mail also. They are pretty nice lights especially for emergencys or when you are walking down the street at night and need a little weapon to defend yourself.

SAS is a data wherehousing software (i used to work with it). They had a survey about 2 months ago where you could sign up to get a free mag flashlight.

I tried to follow the old link, but alas the deal seems to be removed from their page.

mine was in the mail yesterday too. I tossed it into the 'earthquake emergency trunk' to replace the other maglight that got messed up when the batteries corroded. warning to all - if you're not going to use it right away, don't put the batteries in! the nice thing about the SAS case is that the batteries can be stored with the flashlight. thanks to whoever shared the deal way back when.

Mine arrived at my work address at the beginning of May, but because goods in is so screwed up here, I didn't get it until a couple of weeks ago.

As advertised, it's an AA Mini Maglite, with SAS' logo laser-etched (or something) into the head.

I just read that little sheet that came with the mag a few weeks ago, and noticed some cool unnoticed features - "Candle Mode", which you do by completely unscrewing the head, then putting the head down and sticking the body in it - then it stands up like a candle by itself! The other cool thing is that they give you a free extra lamp in the base, which'll be nice if the first one ever burns out.

i think it is quite cool how they have extra lamp but the candle mode is way to bright. So what makes a Mag light a Mag light?
