is it possible to burn a divx file [.avi] to a cd and have it be playable on a dvd player that has vcd capabilites? i have nero and adaptec, on different computers, so its not much of a problem. if it takes one of the two

so i found how to burn it into a vcd, but is there any way to speed up the process? it took more than an hour just to convert the file to mpeg and that was only to 75% so i didnt even get to burn the cd

Get a faster cpu. . . thats about it. Video editing takes a lot of cpu power to do.

im thinking of getting an iBook...but dont have enough money. I want one with a dvd drive and the cheapest i can find is $1399 i think...

Well just patience and actually a g3 won't do you any faster than a p4 1.6. Maybe if you got a g4 it would be faster but other than that. . . you're gonna have to wait. Video editing is time consuming because of the rendering stage thats why big houses will have computer farms to do the processing. The rendering time gets more fun with 3d modeling. . .

know anyone going to college, that has a campus bookstore? they sometimes sell it a bit cheaper than mac's website.

well..i am leaving for college. this weekend in fact. that was the price that i was getting through the bookstore. there may have been deals, but it wasnt that cheap. im going to UC Irvine

this is OT...but anyone go there and know of deals that they offer thorughout the year?
