View Full Version : Is this connection too slow to split for gaming?

My roommate and I are sharing a connection, and when we both try to play a game online, our pings jump up to about 800 (from a usual 50-100).

Your problems are probably with that relatively slow upload speed.

CornMonkey: Yes, we are on a router with a 4-port switch... 100 Mb/s, so I don't think that is the cause.

spigidygak: That's what I was thinking too... But I wouldn't expect it to drop THAT much performance.
