i think survivor is still cool. though it wasn't the first reality tv show, it made the genre popular. unfortunately, most everything else that came after it was crap...i.e. "big brother." but "amazing race," now THERE'S some good entertainment.

Nope - I'm TOTALLY with you on this one. I remember my older (and only) sister telling me about this show how ever long ago the first season was. (This poor girl doesn't have cable, so I sort of understand). It seemed sort of interesting, but I was in my senior year of high school and tv was the last thing on my list of things to do. But I think after a few episodes, I would have gotten bored. It's like watching the same bad movie over and over again with a new cast. Remember Real World? Road Rules? Those were good for the first two seasons, then the ten following seasons sucked. We're human, we like variety.

One funny note on my part, showing how much out of the loop I am, my sister tells me about how excited she is about Big Brother Season Two or whatever. My response is "What is this show, and the fact that it's season two means I haven't even HEARD about it for an entire year. What rock have I been under?". (Or who do I have to thank for distracting me from stupid tv programming. Oops, did I say that out loud?)

Ok, first of all. I swore to myself that I would never post in a Survivor thread because well...the show sucks. All the real type shows suck. It is one of the worst ideas in cable programming ever.

However, being distracted can be a good thing. Would you rather be watching those shows? :P

BTW... watchin' Survivor is just like watchin' any other "game show". But hey... if you aren't into those, you just aren't into 'em. :shrug:

Survivor is NOT like a game show. How dare you disgrace the name, the word, the title!! :angry: I LOVE game shows! Family Fued, Name That Tune, Hollywood Squares, 20,000 Pyramid, and so many others...I could watch the gameshow network for hours! With the exception of a few shows.

Yeah, she was really playing it.

But DAMN, did the purple team play like jackasses on the reward challenge! Geez!
