Quicktime Problem

For whatever reason when I play a .mov using quicktime the sounds comes out very distorted with static. mp3s, cds, avi, and such all sound fine. Anyone have any ideas what maybe wrong?

What version of Quicktime? If you have v4 I think you are having a problem with a Codec that is out of date. If you have v5 or v6 you may have a corrupt Codec. Have you tried uninstalling and re-install Quicktime?
