edit: my monitor also said flat tube monitor and it has nothing to do with "flat screen"

19-inch (18.0" VIS), anti-glare, anti-static FST (Flat Square Tube) with an advanced in-line high-resolution electron gun, Invar shadow mask and pigmented medium-short phosphor
Yes. :)

It's a Flat Panel Display monitor, which means it is the same depth as a normal monitor, but the front of the tube itself is flat. Flat-Screen's however are about 2 inches thick.

By the way, shouldn't this be moved to the Hardware forum. ;)

You got it the wrong way around, mang. Flat panels are the thin lcd displays. Flat screens are just regular crt monitors with a flat face. ;)

"Save desk space and get a high-resolution picture with the Sylvania 19" FST Color Monitor. With Plug and Play set-up and on-screen digital controls, this monitor is also exceptionally easy to use."

Misleading it doesnt look like it saves much space and the screen doesnt look flat.

btw isnt this supposed to be in HW?

This is misleading at best. I think this could be considered false advirtising because you're really not saving much space.

nope... doesnt look flat to me. the "casing" is square making it look somewhat flat. but it looks just like my screen does... not flat.

Doesn't look flat from the picture but according to sylvania's own site says it uses a flat tube so. . . dunno. Probably should go check it out in person first. http://www.sylvaniapc.com/1Products/specs/f912.html

you can't reallly tell my the picture costco gives because most of the time they photochop a picture onto the screen so it'll "display" something. That messes things up.
