Is there a way to change the default icons in XP for lets say....all folders? To completely customize the look. I know you can change my computer, my network places, trash can, sutff like that and you can click on folders and change the icon individually but what about change the DEFAULT one?

just a thought, find a program which extracts and reinserts icons to and from .dll files, open x:\WINDOWS\system32\SHELL32.dll in that prog and replace the folder icon with the one you want. make sure you backed up shell32.dll, shut down and reboot into safe mode command prompt if you have 98 on your box or if you only have xp use the command prompt utility that comes on the disk. replace the file. that should do it.

you might be able to do it from inside windows but i think that shell32.dll is loaded and wont be overwritten
