Here is something i really should know....
But anyway, i just got Ameritech DSL at my apartment near chicago, 2 weeks ago. i didnt pay for a static IP, so my dynamic IP changes at least once a day. wierd, i know.
Problem is, Sometimes i dont get an IP that is not properly registered in DNS. If you do an nslookup on it, it fails. Therefore, i cant connect to a lot of the services at my university.
I'm not looking for a solution, because Ameritech is the only one that can fix this, but rather an explanation. What sort of problems or wierd things could they be doing at ameritech to cause these problems for me? Just wondering, i'm sure there is someone who works for an ISP that reads this:)
thanks
