i didnt think ps2 could display games or dvd's in progressive scan, but according to EGM oct 02 SOCOM will have an option for progressive scan play. yeah, its not an issue for most of us, but for those with the good tv's its about time. this issue also has a great reference for AV n00bz explaining different aspect ratios, progressive and interlaced displays and the differences between the 4 types of video connections.
[wishful thinking]my tv has a component video in, i dont think its progressive though, guess ill have to check. [/wishful thinking]

Interesting. . . now only if I could find a copy of socom :angry: One thing I have my ps2 hooked up with components and there is a distinct difference. It's sooo much clearer almost like playing a game on a monitor, not quite though.

It's sooo much clearer almost like playing a game on a monitor, not quite though. yeah, i picked up a clearenced s video cable a couple of weeks ago and the difference was like whoa :eek:! what the hell was i playing before. the difference is huge. im thinking about getting the component cables now, but i tend to play my ps2 on my computer more than on my wega lately. no component ins on my puter :(.
