This is not meant to be an insult, just my opinion.

I don't think its very cute at all, its actually rather disturbing.

AND I hope that it stops before the child gets older and can recognize those images. Believe me children are smarter and catch on faster than we think. Let the child have his innocence as long as he can. There will be enough garbage penetrating his lil mind/spirit before he can even add/subtract.

Not trying to ruin anyone's fun, but I just feel strongly about this.

you feel that strongly about photoshop, do you?

Besides...he was reading the articles.

Yeah, I'm sure its a photochop...but the mag could quite possibly be propped up for him.

Either way, the image is disturbing (to me).

besides, no, babies have really poor eyesight, and it is unlikely he could make much out besides colors, assuming he was even looking at the picture. Smart doesn't enter into it - the connections from the eye to the brain take a while to jell.

And for all we know, it could be a girl baby.

You may think I am a d*ck here, but I would think that because it is offensive to one person, that on these boards, you would show respect to that one person.

Surely we don't have to click on the link or ever look in the thread again, however if someone clearly states that it is offensive to them, don't you think that it should be removed or taken down instead of protected?

It makes me think that the only reason things are taken down or locked is because the GAM's or owners don't like the thread / topic. But if they find it funny or ok, then it is "alright" to stay up on the boards...no matter if a member of our community finds it offensive and is clearly expressing how they feel about it.

I'm not asking for it to be taken down...don't do so on MY account (edit: I was going to say it's not porn, but then again what are the implications of the pic). But when you post stuff, just be ready for other people to have and state thier opinion. Usually when I'm done with a thread or just don't want to look at it ever again for whatever reason...I just don't go to it anymore.

Whatever...

What I SAID was that I hope when the child "comes to an age when it can comprehend" (paraphrased for understanding) that the child is not exposed to such stuff. AND that we might think that because a child is young it wouldn't pick up on such things, but they do. When I was a child, I remembered a lot of what I was exposed to in earlier years AND there is a lot that goes on subconsciously...and in my opinion, spiritually (but that's another topic). It has an effect whichever sex the child is.

I mean WHY even go there in the first place?? There are PLENTY of other things we can amuse ourselves with. Leave the babies (children) alone.

And with that said...I'm done. I'll just go on about my business.

I wasn't doing so on your account, I am just saying. People have had threads locked on them or have been banned or suspended for posting things that have been "ok" in their minds but not in the Admins or GAM's mind. However, when it is "ok" to an Admin or GAM...then it is allowed to stay.

latingirl needs to lighten up :P

i think the picture is cute. you are trying to make it out as disturbing? that's a bit harsh.

i would hope the child comes to appreciate the beauty of the naked human body and not be ashamed or think that it is dirty. that is my opinion, and it's OK if you don't share it.

The real problem is some people don't think beforehand, then have a temper tandrum when they don't get their way. The net makes it easier not to take responsibility for lame behavior.

I'm not trying to troll you or anything, don't take me the wrong way. I think you are reading more into the pic then is there, but that's fine. I don't offend easily, so I was sorta wondering why you were.

As for what babies remember, I personally don't remember what happened last week, much less when I was one, but I know girls are better at that. But having a child, I can be fairly sure this kid has no memory of this at all, and the smile likely comes from a parent making goofy noises while holding the camera.

As for the "buffet", I'm sure any baby would be thinking "lunch!".

um have you actually ever read Playboy Magazine? well actually the question is rehitorical. it's obvious that you haven't. Playboy is one of the many Men's Entertainment Magazines that is written at a college level, and not at your average news papers level, which I might add is written at the sixth grade level. The pictures in PB mag make up approx 10-15 pages max out of over 140 on average. don't slam the mag before you have read it

If it was offensive to one person then this BB wouldn't exist. That's a major prob with america or ppl in general today, if it bothers 1 person out of 1000, it needs to be taked down because the offensive item in question is infringing upon someones rights, right? well what about the other 999 peoples rights that were just infringed upon, by this one person, that was offended? What about their rights to freedom of speach, and expression? Just because one person finds it offensive that means that it should be removed, UH-AH NO WAY! First of all my dollar bill says "E PLURIBUS UNUM" Perhaps you have a counterfit bill.
Second of all, I thought it was a bit amazing that 3 (Latin?) words could mean "the needs of the many out weigh the few" so I did a google search and "From many, one" seems to be popular. I belive it refers to the 13 colonies joining together as one.

It's not that I disagree with your point. I just though people should know what our dollars mean.

Please don't butcher the latin. Mis-translating latin didn't help make you look any smarter.

E Pluribus Unum- From Many, One. You not only translated it wrong, but you spelled the latin wrong too.

Man... this thread got further than I thought it would. Personally, I liked the way Latingirl dealt with this. She had an opinion (I'm not saying that I agree with it, but she is certainly within her rights to have one) and she stated it. She didn't make a big fuss over it and she didn't ask that the photo be removed, or that the thread be locked. If other people hadn't started making a big deal out of it, I doubt it would've gone as far as it did. As for whether this board is censored by the majority or the admin. of course it's censored by the admin. Heck, that's their job. How else are they going to decide whether something is inappropriate? If I were running the board, I would judge a thread based on my opinions of it too. You guys do realize that Apex and his crew are humans right?

I've been gone for a month, but apparently this thread hasn't...

Recently a couple college guys here got arrested. Apparently in Minnesota, showing pornography to a minor is considered 3rd degree sexual assault.

I know the original photo was most likely photochopped, but I'm sure some people would think it's cute to take a picture of a kid with a Playboy. I just wouldn't want that picture laying around if some government agency ever questioned my parenting skills, or if there ever was a nasty divorce...
