Which version do you use?

A friend has a Ti4200 128 card and says that the system hangs (drops frames... is probably what he means).

It's on a P3 850.

Likely weak link:

Driver set?

Processor?

Memory? 256MB system memory on WinME.

Any ideas?

Dave.

I use the 40.71 Detonators from the NVidia site. Got a Athlon XP 1800+ and 512 DDR. I have a Geforce4 128 MB as well (MSI). Everything works fine.

I used 30.00 at the time I played through WC3. I used 41.71 now. No problems then. I haven't played it since.

Thanks guys.

I'll suggest all three.

Actually, it is probably the processor. My system slows and stalls on WC3 on occasion, and it is a 750 and sometimes an 800 MHz Duron. Another one of my friends upgraded his system because it was too slow on WC3, and he was running an 800-900 MHz system.

Son, its time for a talk. No, not about the facts of life but about an upgrade.

HAHHAHAHHAHA! I have a friend playing it on a PII400(actually 399)
128 MB SDR, and a basic GF2. I have never been more frustrated than trying to play WC3 when I am over at his place. I lose every match (try micro-managing when ghouls *jump* 3 inches in every frame).

What is it that makes it run crappy on a sub 1G computer? It didn't come off as being that cpu intensive.

I'm not sure, but any thing under a 1GHz computer should handle up to 6 or 8 players just fine... After that... :2far:
