I've always thought about the ATI but then I remember their driver support. Do you think ATI will ever step up there driver support to match Nvidia? Or have they already?

The latest ATI Catalyst driver (2.3) for Radeon video cards is pretty good. I haven't had any problem with it yet!

Was scrounging up parts to put together an extra system and I found an old TNT2 card (can you believe it? I don't even remember when I got this card...seems like ages ago). i DL'd the newest driver pack and it installed without a problem. BRAVO Nvidia!

So I'm torn between the
Gainward Ultra 750xp golden sample and the
asus v8460 ultra deluxe

They both seem to be able to overclock to similar numbers.
I'm just wondering which one will offer better stability for sustained OC'ing over hours?
Also which one can I use to capture video better? Mainly I'd like to capture my home video from VHS to mpeg or whatever format they use.
I have an Asus P4S533 2.4GA proc. Any compatability issues with this MB?

The gainward has a better heatsink setup - the Asus doesn't have ram heatsinks.

Capture is pretty much the same. The asus has a more robust software package, but most of it is old software. If you already use a decent capture program, like Studio 8, software doesn't matter so much. In fact, I'd recommend something like Studio 8 as it's just easier to edit with, especially if the sound goes out of sync.

Keep in mind, no matter what you do, the quality of the mpeg compression won't be great, because of the analog signal, but it still should be pretty good.

Really, I guess I'd go with whatever was cheaper at the time, since they are both very similar hardware wise, and both very good cards.
