I make a habit out of perusing the clearance racks at Target and today found some pretty good stuff. Mostly from the "Todd Oldham design collection." It's stuff that is kind of targeted at the college dorm room crowd. Anyway, here is what I found:
Halogen desk lamps $1.98
Torchiere lamps $2.48
Nesting tables $4.98

They have quite a bit of other stuff, most of which is 75% off. Picture frames, photo albums, candles, pillows, sheets, wastebaskets, bulletin boards, etc. Have fun.

I could use a new desk lamp. Hmmm, wonder if all Target stores are doing the same. My luck it won't, but wouldn't hurt to go look.

the target managers ive talked to say that target does thier clearence nationwide, if the clearenced item is in stock all targets are supposed to clearence it. if they are all sold out, then youre out of luck. each stores managers also has the authority to clearence anything that they feel they need to so some things may be clearenced only at one location. this doesnt happen too often and only to items which havent moved at all in a long time or the last few pieces that havent sold.

by the way, i bought one of those TO desk lamps about a year ago for 8 bucks without TO branding on them. its funny how this guy was some big time designer once and now his name is put on random dorm room products with a star on the box :shake:

Each Target store usually clears out different stuff, but as Tommy said, sometimes they do a chain-wide clearance of things.

There's a lot of Todd Oldham stuff on clearance at the Targets I freqent, plus one of the stores is clearing out all the funky designed CD players, phones, etc. These are the ones in the bright colors with the wacky designs on them.

I saw a 900 MHz cordless phone for something like $9.99 at a store in the Chicago suburbs. If I was a more energetic type I would buy some of this stuff and ebay it.

Yeah, I'm sure many big hot shot designers are clamoring to design products especially for Target stores. Seems like the bottom of the barrell to me. Of course, I guess it's a step above K-Mart.

I thought about buying a whole shopping cart full of those lamps and ebaying them but I also am lacking in the time and energy department.

Don't be too sure about that. There is quite a bit of money to be made by feeding product into that type of distribution chain. Just look at all the money Martha Stewart made pushing product through K-Mart. What may seem like the bottom of the barrell to us might be their ticket to easy street.

Were you at a regular Target or Target Greatland.. Or one of the Target Superstores? There is a new Target Superstore in Mission Valley I believe, here in San Diego County, CA.. haven't been there and wondering how it is. Suppose to be two stories.. bet it has a hugh clearance..

It was just a regular Target. I've checked at several of the local stores and they all had basically the same deals. I got a really nice ceiling fan for like 12 bucks.

supposedly target had the logitech cordless freedom wireless keyboard/mouse for ~$30 on clearance a couple of days ago. i went to 2 targets on friday and they were priced at $42. i guess some things aren't clearance everywhere.

the target in mission valley sucks. they dont mark their clearance stuff like the rest of the nation targets. trust me, the clearance rack is slim picking.

Hi..dude8

Are talking about the brand new one? If you are, don't give up, check back after christmas... I am sure you will see a big difference,
Especially the following year. That is the way Targets are when the are brand new..
Also if this is the new one does it have a supermarket in it? I saw it on the news with a special elevator for shopping carts..suchadeal
Why don't you like the store?
Thanks for letting me know!
