Morning,

I have a 56k modem and also a T1 line. Is there a way to combine the two in order to increase upload/download speed? Also is there way to control which connection my internet explorer use? For some reason beyond me, when the 56k modem is dailed out and connected, internet exploer points to that by default.

Pleasse shed some light to this madness......thx

My first question would be... WHY?
:stupid:

There are ways of combining dialup lines, but adding 56k to a T1 would be like adding half a shot of Guinness to a two-pint glass.

As for how to control which connection your computer uses, check in "Internet Options" and under "Connections" you can select "Dial whenever a network connection is not present." This should bring up a dialogue that allows you to select which connection to use.

There's a dual-modem technology that some ISPs use to combine the bandwidth of 2 modems, but there is no way (nor should there be!) to combine a modem w/a T1. Since you'll have 2 IP addresses, you could load balance between the lines, but you can't combine the bandwidth.
