one advanced and one rookie...
I've ordered, and received...but yet to play...
I'd like to play 'gainst some people to get myself learning, but I don't wanna enter a tourney and just get my butt whooped...

Actually, that can still be really bad. Hey, the level 9 and 10 guys that I play with consider themselves okay. Not even good... just okay. Now if you are talking about a real pro... they might be able to pull off a 4v1. :P
I really need to learn the best way to rush in this game. I prefer playing as Undead...they are pretty nice, although I do enjoy Humans and Orcs.
I have yet to try Night Elves though.

From what I've seen, rushing is quite hard... or at least in the same way you could rush in SC. In a 3v3 game or bigger, it is easier to rush, imo, but 1v1 makes it really tough. Mainly because you can't afford to lose guys early on. If you can keep constant pressure on the base rather than just taking it out in one fell swoop, you can pretty much lock yourself into a win.
Well the way I play, I usually just build defenses first then I focus on getting a massive force of power. i.e. - If I am playing Undead, I focus on getting about 12 Dragons to run around as my main damage force. With fully upgraded Damage and Armor of course. :D
Rushing is ultra easy with night elves. They have the best 1st tier unit (huntress). My friend loves to rush with the NE and always messes with me. The hero with mana burn pisses me off because he turns my hero into one big useless grunt. The easiest way to stop an attack is to build towers (if you are orc) and rush peasnts to orc burrow. That's the easiest way to stop a NE rush.

I will definitely have to give Night Elves a try then...I am going to wait until I hit their campaign in Single player though. They just don't show a real interest to me.

We don't really even have enough for 1 tourney...
We can split it up, but who is going to admit their good or bad...well everyone will say they are bad....:eek:
We could do a tourny with 9 people, split em up randomly, and do best outa 3...one game per bracket wouldn't work cause not enough people (9)

oh i just remembered, are we gonna play ladder or custom? cuz if we play ladder every game needs to be with at least one person without a router cuz i'm pretty sure you can make ladder games when you have a router

Why can't you start a ladder game with a router? Besides, it's not that tough... You just need an observer to create the game. :shrug:

Eh ladder you mean official ladder? no no no, we doing custom...with observers as refs...
Ladder matches cant be created like starcraft, you have to click play game and it randomly chooses who you are matched up with by lvl and experience on battle.net....we are going to make custom games...
Oh yea, dont worry you guys, I think almost everyone here is probly new..just get with me and I will teach yah the ropes and some strats.

ok nice, i know the only way you can make a ladder game with other people is when you have arranged teams, oh and i think the router just doesn't let you make ladder games for wc3 cuz my friend has a router and you can't, you could try though

Ballisatas aren't part of a "rush" I don't know if you can rush with those, takes a while before you can build them I think for NE. When I think of a rush it's within the first few minutes of the game.

There are many different strats, huntress ballista rush is one...I am not giving out info about that though...just take the average huntress build order and try to get balistas..youll figure it out..then try to cut the time of your production in half :P
