I think it's used for your performance data within WinNT, Win2K, and WinXP (When you hit CTRL-ALT-DEL).

chances are that it belongs to some program and it is using it constantly. you can try to start in safe mode and delete it or if that doesnt work try booting up to a command prompt and delete it from there. if it does belong to a program, that program should create it again if its needed but just to be on the safe side, back it up

you have nero installed?

ive just very recently installed nero (trying out the software that came with the TDK i got), and ive seen the exact same file in my temp folder. i couldnt delete it at all, until i uninstalled nero. Im thinking its more likely a temp file that nero uses while youre using the system (whthere youre using nero or not), thats why you cant delete it.

I bet that is it i recently upgraded to teh newest version of nero.

Though this Win2K KB article mentions the files to be in a different location, this sounds similar to what you are talking about.

I had those files but I was able to delete them. I do have the latest version of Nero installed.
