you actually got to the point to choose ur seats?! hehe, i would have just clicked any seats, if i was in your place.. i didn't even get that far! well, as for the tickets i already have, my dad is a season ticket holder... :) pretty decent seats too.. so oh well.. and i was asking my brother whether or not he wanted to ebay it off.. but he insisted that we still go.. bummer! there goes the cost of a new computer.. or plasma tv... or.. or... :bawl: i'm a diehard fan and all, but i ain't stupid.. if someone will pay me that much for the tix, i'll be happy watching it from home!

Eh, i clicked away until around 10:10AM PST, at which point I was late for my midterm. Still couldn't get through the jammed servers. There were probably 300k people trying to get the maybe 5-15k tickets available. Most tickets are already reserved for season ticket holders, they have first priority to get tickets for their reserved seats. And then theres the thousands of people who waited in line at the ballpark and got wristbands guaranteeing them that if Giants made it, that they would get tickets in that order, and that was like a day or two before they had clinched.
As for sellin the ticket, yeah, seems like tough luck for me.. but at least I'll enjoy it without spending $1k-6k trying to buy the ticket. Those are some obsessed fans. And I forget if I said it, I don't have home plate tickets. So I wouldn't have garnered $5k for my tickets. Mine are on the AAA Club Level, which is the 2nd deck. Nice as hell inside, fully carpeted, and have concessionaires take your order and bring your food if you like, and a full bar. My seats are on the 3rd base/left field side. When sitting down, Barry Bonds stands straight before my eyes.
Marinnat
10-17-2002, 10:54 AM
I've sat there before - wow, talk about spoiled! Those seats are awesome! I still have a few contacts and hope they come through for me - one of them is Club level.
I'm pretty disappointed in the way these tix have been handled. All the diehard, true blue fans who watch the Giants win or lose are now getting shafted. It's the RICH bandwagon fans that only want to be seen at the game because it's "the place to be" that will get to go. Not fair to us everyday folk.

True true.. I second that notion. But thats not to say that the rich corporations aren't true fans either. I've stuck with the Giants through thick and thin.. just fortunate that my dad purchased it for his corporation. I don't know how Giants could have really handled the matter alot better.. Afterall, it is a business, and they hafta raise the $$ somehow to pay for the hefty bill of the ballpark.. And since it is in downtown, its geared alot more towards the business clientel than Candlestick/3Com was, IMO.

i saw on the news that people were all lined up and that they were out of tickets by the next day.... dang.
Marinnat

I'm not peeved with the season ticket holders and corporations who have tickets from loyalty, I'm miffed that the remaining 14,000 tickets (out of a total of 43,000(?) are pretty much going to be sold to the highest bidders.

*I* got them for free.. though my dad paid whatever face value for it. He has season tickets, and also has the license to the seats. If he passes up on the postseason tickets, then it is available to the public.
And Marinnat, well, sadly, thats the way our system works. The remaining tickets, mind you, is sold at face value. Its those people that purchase those tickets that choose to resell it to the highest bidders, not the Giants. :) At least I don't believe so.. :hmm:
