Here is the thing. Correct me if I'm worng...but ain't Mac's PC also. PC is just a short for personal computer. Well...HELLO!!! Macs are personal computers also! I think if people want to seperate the two computer brands. I they should label them as...
either...OS X vs. Windows vs. Lynix vs. Unix! (and all the other ones)
OR.......Mac's vs. AMD vs. Intel vs. Cyrix vs. (my own fingers)!!
You guys get my point?!?
GEE...What has this world gone to?!?!?

Very insightful cheesy you're right. I don't think they really thought it out very far when they stopped calling them IBM's and Apples.

Yep the correct term to use is wintel versus mac. Not PC vs Mac, as you have stated pc is an acronym for personal computer which means anything that can be considered a computer and is affordable is a personal computer. . . technically a calculator can be considred a pc.

Yeah, it's kind of like that whole deal of calling rims wheels.
As far as I'm concerned, though... it is beginning to be more of a battle over OSs than an actual computer anyway. A majority of the hardware is compatable with all the major OSs anyway, so in my eyes, it is more like Microsoft vs Mac OS vs Linux Os.

its pretty much a industry standard term when referring to x86 based systems as PC. I have argued the point mac is a pc, but people prefer to associate the windows world to pc. Oh well

Yes, technically, "PC" means "Personal Computer". Back in 1981, IBM introduced a new personal computer, called the "IBM PC". IBM gets the credit for popularizing (not inventing) the term "PC".
So when someone refers to a "PC", they are deriving the term from "IBM PC", not from the generic term "personal computer".

Yes, but OS X is a specific OS, and he does have the "X" in his post.
EDIT: His post has vanished, so guess the point is moot now.
EDIT2: Lets make fun of his "Linux" spelling. :)
