I really want to get a new case so I can have those cool cold cathodes in it. Does anyone know a place to get a very good transparent case or where to get these cathodes?

Also, with transparent cases, they're made of plastic right? Would there be any problems with electrical interference since there's no shielding?

if i remember correctly, Apple has a patent on clear cases for computers, so you cannot purchase a tranparent case.

the case looks cool, but dont metal cases absorb interference? chances are that if you put a comp in there youre gonna get static on tv's and speakers around it

Not only that, but patents stop after a certain amount of time, don't they?

Do you guys think its worth getting this acrylic case and putting led fans, cold cathodes, and etches?

I mean it's a cute project, but also a $350 one as well...

I love casemodding, and I've thought about getting a clear acrylic case as well. There's two things that I've read about them though...

First of all, I wouldn't use an acrylic case as a LAN machine, because a lot of moving around tends to crack the acrylic at the screw holes. It sure would look cool though!

Second, unless you're using filters on the intake fans, they tend to get really dusty. Well, not any dustier than any other computer, but then again, you can't see right through other computers! Even a computer with a window or two doesnt' show dust the way a clear one does.

Other than that, I think the clear cases would be a fun project.
