In Philadelphia proper, or lurking about with us in the burbs? i guess i wasn't proper enough to get into philadelphia proper. i went to finishing school, but i never finished. so, yeah, i ended up in a place south of philly known as "south philly." honestly i didn't know y'all broke it up like that till i got the offer for the apt. it's pretty happenin tho. always something to do. and when you get bored, you can always grab a broom and sweep up some trash to be helpful :P

Just kidding. I never had any problems anywhere in the city...although I did have some friends who refused to come in to the city to go to Geno's with me. I never could understand that.

If the mafia is at war, they only shoot each other. They also keep other bad elements out of the area.

Now go have some Overbrook Water ice (its on main street in 'yunk (Manayunk for all of you non native people)).
Eat some soft pretzels...either from a WaWa or a street vendor.
Make sure you hit all the good cheesesteak places to make an informed decision.
Get dessert at the Pink Rose Bakery (near fourth and bainbridge)
Get some cookies at Famous's deli
And if you like some good Deli food - go to Hymies Deli! Its on Montgomery Ave. About 15 minutes from downtown.

Additionally, the secret of driving in Philly is back roads and side streets. Avoid the Schukyll Expressway at all costs any time near rush hour. I was always able to get anywhere by using backstreets.
