Anyone know where I can get the Pioneer Elite VSX-45TX Reciever for a good price? Seems like everywhere is selling this for pretty close to MSRP. I was told Pioneer is very strict, similar to Denon, about the pricing on their Elite line.
Well, they're strict about who they allow to sell the Elite line. There are no etailers that can sell Elites. It's retail sales only if you want to keep the warranty.

The cheapest I've seen it online is at etronics.com for $899, but you have to take into account what Apex said.
I've had the 27TX for about 3 years now and I can say it's been great for me. The markup on electronics is crazy though. I had a friend who worked at Pioneer at the time and he got me the a good DVD player, the 27TX elite receiver, and a full set of 6 nice speakers for around $1,000. The MSRP on all of it at the time was over $4,500. Sorry to say, he doens't work there any more otherwise I'd try to hook you up.
