Try setting up the raid with normal ide cables and tell me what happens I have tried several times to contact asus to see if raid setup is for serial hard drives only because I cannot get the raid to detect 2 drives when I use ide cables

I believe the PATA raid can only work on the one connector at the edge of the board, thus you can only have a 2-drive PATA RAID setup. I can examine this further.

I still find it hard to believe that this wont work with ide raid drives...

Finally !!:D I got a hold of Asus TECH on phone 10/22/02 5:30p.m.eastern.The tech had to confirm with another tech and said it should work with ide cables One to pri_ide the other to pri_raid ide.So I have a bad raid controler BUT!! were I bought the board a local PC Store the owner which has been helping me to get info had another Asus A7V8X come in stock so he is going to put together a pc and see if it will detect raid using ides and I will know tommorow if my board has a bad raid controler
I was considering buying an ASUS "A7N8X Deluxe", and was wondering if i could use the "2 LANs" that it comes with to share a DSL connection directly between 2 PCs without the need for a separate DSL router or hub? The second computer will have a NIC card of course.
