I have framed about 5 or 6 of my posters that were the size you are talking about...30ish X 40ish. It is expensive. The frames I got were kits. You buy a set of two pieces for top and bottom and another set for the sides. It usually runs around 60 bucks but the posters look amazing. I just got a huge poster of Wayne Gretzky framed. It was about 6 feet long and 2 and a half feet tall. That frame cost $115 but it is awesome. The store that I go to is called Ben Franklin crafts...it may be a regional store here in Indiana. You can also try Michael's....I think it is a national store. Good luck...it's definitely worth it.

Damn, $115....that's crazy! I got custom frames for my T2, Life Is Beautiful, and Breakfast At Tiffany's movie posters - they ran from $30 to $64 at Prints Plus here in LA. They did the framing themselves and it has a nice decco look to it.

Michaels is too expensive. If you don't want to hassle with building the frame yourself try Prints Plus. If you're going to frame a lot, better off buying the tools ($100) and just doing it yourself.

i used to work at Michaels. all you have to do is become friends w/ one of the framers and you can get $150+ frame jobs done for $20, they will do all the work for you and charge you for a broken frame and a mat..
