View Full Version : Buick Test Drive Offers -- Hope you only did one
I just got a letter from Buick..
blah blah blah. We received more than one request from you for a test drive/special offer. We are sorry but you are only limited to one. Please call 1-800-4ABUICK for questions.
OK, so I call them, I tell them I test drove 3 buicks (all different models) at the same time for three different gifts. The guy on the phone says the dealer should have known better. Well, he didnt! It is one per person per car brand, not per car model
Personally, I believe that Oldsmobile gives out better offers. The current one is for a $50 gift card to Blockbuster with a test drive. Or check out the free Swiss Army watch with a Nissan test drive!
The buick offers were:
$50 at giftpoint.com
$50 at giftcertificates.com
and 2 2-way Motorola TalkAbout radios
Wow! Those Talkabouts are expensive! I just took two on vacation w/ me and they worked wonders but each one cost me $90. I did happen to get the supposed "higher" model of the Talkabouts but I'm not sure -- my brother ordered 'em.

What a rip... I got the same letter. I didn't even test drive 3 cars... I don't know if Oldsmobile and Buick are the same deal... Geeze... I wanted the Giftpoints too...
Geeze. Did anyone else call them? I think keeping a low profile is probably better... or they will start denying everyone's test drive.... But I did it right.... every 90 days... just like what they asked for. Geeze.
Y2J, did the guy say when we should be expecting our pair of Motorola Talkabout Radios?

bandit, Buick and the Olds are both GM cars and the offer was for GM cars, so you can only do one promotional test drive offer for all GM cars every 90 days. GM brands are Buick, Olds, GM, Chevy, Cadillac.

Listen to this story about Oldsmobile Offer. Back in March they had a $50.00 Buy.com GC for test driving the Silhouette. So, I march my ass down there and drive it, but not only that, I plunked down the $32K and bought the thing. (we actually needed a new van). So, 4 months later, after 4 phone calls and 5 e-mails to Oldsmobile Customer Service (ya right), they send me the GC. I go to use it this Monday (of course all the good buy.com coupons had already expired and the RAM I wanted has skyrocketed) and I get an error message "this GC has already been used" !!! Can you believe it?!? I was pretty pissed. So now I am dealing with Buy.com to try to get to the bottom of this. I should mention that Oldsmobile has agreed to also give me the $50.00 Blockbuster Card as compensation for my hassle. What a crack....and I am probably one of the only people who actually bought the van.

On behalf of freebiehounds everywhere, I would like to publicly thank Timotheus
for his actions. Purchases like his enable all the freebie offers we so enjoy. Hats (free ones) off to Timotheus!! http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
(next time it's my turn, I hope it's a sportscar)

I am amazed at what somebody will do to get something "FREE". To me, cutting a bar code off of a package and filling out a coupon is well worth the money I receive in return. But to take a test drive; subscribe to a program offer, receive something free and then cancelling it;or trying to convince a clerk that they must price match an item that was in last week's circular just isn't worth the hassle.Maybe this is fun for some people, but to me it's a total waste of time. But then, I haven't signed up as a volunteer in the show "Survivor"
Well, I talked to them. Thje guy said we only get one, and it was already chosen for me, the $50 at giftpoint
I am very pissed, I wanted the radios.
I managed to use the buy.com coupon with no problem at all. I picked up a few DVD's. It was cool because when I went to test drive it, the dealer just signed the certification form without the test drive because I told him the real reason that I came there (for the gift certificate for buy.com) and that I was not going to buy a new vehicle no matter what.
