I was deleted some old commerce email and I stubbled upon this from crucial.com:

Part No: CT3264Z265
Price: $49.49
Description: 256MB, 184-pin DIMM.

Line total: $49.49

Line Item Subtotal: $49.49
$10 off coupon offer Coupon Saving*:-$10.00
FedEx 2nd Day Shipping Charges: $.00
Estimated Order Subtotal: $39.49

This same DDR DIMM cost half of what it does now - more than 4 four months ago. Yuck.

Well, from waht someone told me, Samsing has recently completed the 5th generation of the die of the 256 IC's and production should be up. If that happens then chip prices shouldn't go too much farther up...that is unless they have realized that they can make just as much money producing half the amount they used to output by charging us more. Its just like the gasoline price thing. We were all outraged by prices at $1.50 when it forst happend but look at it now, we all seemed to have gotten used to it.

"that is unless they have realized that they can make just as much money producing half the amount they used to output by charging us more." That wink wink nod nod has been going on.
