Need link for Amex Blue Smartcard reader!

Hi,,just got my Amex Blue, now i need the link to get the free smartcard reader..i searched gotapex and couldnt find it..anyone have the URL???

UPDATE: i found the link, but couldnt delete this post! Sorry! BTW, has anyone used the reader for the Blue Card or for other "creative" uses??? Id really like to see what this can be useful for!

I think the reader can be used to write ANY smart card. You can take that any way you want http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/wink.gif. Just hang out in IRC for a while, and you're sure to come across someone who has used it creatively! I have a friend of a friend of a friend http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/wink.gif who MIGHT have used this thing to re-write an "H" card or two... but I don't know anything about it.

Just go to www.americanexpress\igotblue (http://www.americanexpress\igotblue) when you go to the bottom of that screen it says sign up for the smart wallet and card reader. DO not use the drop down boxes use the actual links.

Not to sound like a moron, but what are DSS Cards?? We have a smartchip card for school... could i reprogram that and own up the vending machines? haha

WOW!! just wanted to let everyone know I got my smartcard reader via AIRBORNE EXPRESS less than 2 days after ordering it for free at amex's site!! ITS COOL! but i still wanna find out how to make this puppy useful =)!!!

ps.. DSS cards are the cards in the DSS mini satellite dishes which can get you full access....

apply for the amex blue card, when you get approved and get the card you can apply online to get the smartcard reader for free (if you get your card before 8/31) its a really cool card...

look on Apex's "deals" page for the link to signup (left side)

Woot Woot!!! I applied again 1.5 weeks ago and finally got approved. Haha, I originally applied about 3 months ago and got rejected... But they did approve me for another student card with "the same benefits." Ohhh... no thanks, the card looked like a regular Amx. Express card which is completely fugly.

Anyways, if you sign up for American Express blue/porn card, you might get a message telling you it will take 6 weeks to get because of all it's popularity. I only waited a week and a half.

I don't know if I'm missing something or what... but that Amex Blue smartcard reader seems like a load of crap to me. It is of no use whatsoever to the consumer as far as I can tell.

I'm not talking about "creative uses"... but rather its normal intended use. It serves no purpose for the consumer! I've even asked Amex about it.

They said that it "increases security". Increases security for whom? Certainly not the consumer! As long as you can always use the card as a regular credit card, the net increase in security for the consumer is zero.

If you, for some amazingly random reason, actually volunteer to hook the thing up and install any software to get it going on your PC... you are doing nothing but providing a free service to those online merchants that support the use of the reader. You get nothing for it. I don't know why anyone would ever hook this thing up and use it for its intended purpose.

Am I missing something here?

The only advantage for the consumer is that you won't have to type in your card number thereby avoiding any typos. Other than that, there's really no reason to use it.
