I was playing around with my friend's fsb and i put it to 133 and when i rebooted it doesnt start. The motherboard seems to be giving power but nothing comes up on the screen. How do i reset the bios manually?

i realized that i can reset the bios easily with that being done I could not get the fsb past 120 and now it runs at 1.5ghz. My roommates SAYS its a athlon xp 2000 which should run at 1.67 so I dont know how to get the fsb to 133. Any ideas?

Now is the time you leave the computer alone, and get someone who knows what they are doing.

First thing to do is not make the system worse.

You know about powering down and pulling the battery to manually reset the bios. When ocing an unfamilar chip just go slow. When ocing a friends, it might be a good idea not to.
When it comes to ocing Im neither the champ or chump. No fries just decent oc's.

First thing.. Just because he SAYS it's a 2000+.. doesn't mean it is.. Get someone who knows how and the correct procedures and take off the Heat Sink and Fan.. Then take off the thermal tape (cuz I'm assuming there is no paste on it.. clean off the core and look at the processor and see the speed.. This way you can understand if it is or is not a 2000+ .. this will give you a base of over clocking (if you do or if you don't).. it would be better to do this than to ruin the processor and not have one at all.. Before you do any of this though, I would suggest going and buying some arctic silver 3 and referring to this link (http://kickme.to/arcticsilver) on how to apply this Paste correctly.. this way you have good heat transfer going on when you look at the processor..
If you go through all of this and it is a 2000+ but it still won't let you get the speeds.. take back the mobo and processor and get new ones..

From what I understand he is not trying to OC. The chip is supposed to run at 1.67 with a FSB of 133. Allot of Mobos default to a FBS of 100. I do agree that if the chip wont run at 133 then your friend may have a "Slower" chip or it could be the voltage is set to low, a defunct mobo, bad ram or any other number of things.
