just thought everyone here would like a chance to laugh at me.
my laptop has 2 hdds. well 3, but 2 that i use normally. they're removable, so i swap them out. one has a lot of old data on it that i wanna save.
so anyways, i couldn't get my old zip drive to work on it, so i couldn't back it up 100mb at a time. the burner woulda been ideal, but it wouldn't work either. i've reinstalled the drivers and stuff like that...nothing. i'd merely reinstall windows to get the burner running, but that's actually the purpose of the backup, and i'm not that sure that the reinstall over windows would go so well (this install is pretty bad).
so of course with no network running here between boxes and no backup devices available, i ended up compressing, splitting, and sending the files to a remote location with one hdd to download from the other. silly stuff, i'm sure. it'll take about 5 reboots to get it all. easy enough...but slow and boring.
so that's my day. that, and still looking for a job in philly (hint hint). how's yours :P
