How to Order The Sims Online Play Test

After agreeing to the terms on this page, please enter your shipping information to order the 2-CD Play Test set on the following page. There is no charge to cover shipping and handling within the US. It's $10 otherwise.

Due to the dynamic nature of the Play Test, it may be necessary to control the number of people participating in it. This may delay your order a few days. You will receive a confirmation email when your order is sent. The Play Test CD sets will be mailed first class.
Play Test Agreement

Before you sign up, there are a couple of things to be aware of. First, when you install the game, you will be asked for valid credit card information for age verification purposes – it will not be charged. Second, The Sims Online is still being developed, so a lot of things may not work correctly. That's where you come in -- helping us identify and polish the rough spots!

Bastages!!! I had to pay for shipping and handling!

Hmmmmm.

From the EA.COM site:

How Much Does it Cost?
Downloading the software from Fileplanet is FREE*. If you order the kit via mail, you'll need to pay the $5 shipping and handling costs for the two-CD set.

From the link posted above (which is also on the EA.COM site):

After agreeing to the terms on this page, please enter your shipping information to order the 2-CD Play Test set on the following page. There is no charge to cover shipping and handling within the US. It's $10 otherwise.

well. i wasn't sure. i'm not posting this because it's free. in fact, when the game goes live, you'll have to pay the full price for it and a subscription fee. so it's not really a deal. i'm posting it because is a game that's now available to the general public and gamers are going to want to know about it and play it.

also, i have win2k and have no problems running it other than the usual glitches with beta versions.
