My plans are to go to work and keep my head away from the stores.
I work in downtown Chicago, and "Black Friday" is the equivalent of "Amateur Night." You can't even get near the McDonald's outside my building for pete's sake.
:dodgy:
That said, I wish the retailers well. I just don't wanna have to deal with all those people gettin' in my way.

Pardon my ignorance, but what the heck is Black Friday?

I will be safely in Canada at the time visiting friends.
(ps. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving.)

Well, yes and no. I mean, Black Friday is still the beginning of the holiday shopping season and thus the name is still accurate. It's the day that merchants saw their books go into the black.
The debunking part is that it's not the busiest shopping day of the year. Probably the busiest shopping FRIDAY of the year though. :)
i'll be in sacramento. i didn't think they have big name stores in that city :P
Hell no. Crowds like that - are you nuts? I'm sleeping in and shopping online.
