it's so far being upheld... I found this brilliant quote in another forum.
Macs are better they have a dual processor that never crashes like the PC does. A Dual Processor is when there is actually 2 processors i.e. 1.6 ghz. so if one goes wacko there is alway one to back it up. This allows Macs to function better with applications.
it had me rollin'. not only because he said this, but because no one disputed him.

Now that's funny... Too bad he didn't mention that if one processor is gone, it will hurt his wallet greatly! :bigmouth:

Like my RAID *0* configuration. If one of my harddrives fails...well, the other one will pickup up the slack and everything will be just fine. :D

I came THIS close to buying an iBook 700 last night. Open box thing at Compusa, about 900. Didn't because it was missing keys and frankly, was a little beat up....

Hehe, you could of gotten the keyboard replaced for free I think if its under warranty still through apple.
Hehehe, /me watches LP run back to compusa :D.
But yeah I get sick of those mac users as much as I get sick of the frame rate freaks on the pc side. Just makes me ashamed to admit I like macs.

Yes you should be able to get that fixed for free. But, for just 100$ more ($999)you could get a brand new one and double the ram for $40. I'm on an Ibook right now. I switched from my DSL home setting to the Dialup Home away from home setting in just a couple minutes with no reboot. I love these little Ibooks.

That's pretty funny. I will agree that most of my Macintosh users are a couple of fries short of a happy meal. You know that CDW commercial where people are telling the IT guy a bunch of idiotic things? That's pretty much how it is at my work. Just on Friday I had users asking if the internet was down
I think that dumb users are dumb users

Well, I just use the laptop mostly to stream movies to the TV that uh....fall off of trucks. Or TV shows, because I don't use the VCR anymore, I use the internet, because my VCR sucks. Or when all the tvs are in use and I don't care so much, I'll watch a DVD. Wife uses it for work sometimes too. So I didn't need much.
After that, I went to Computer Renny, which normally sucks, but they had a Compaq 700 with a 1GHZ duron for 949. It was 2 months old. Guy who bought it decided it was too much laptop for him, and sold it to CR - likely got maybe 500 bucks for it, cause Like I say, Computer R sucks. But, I got it for 966, plus the 3 year Circuit City warrenty, so I sorta hope it dies on me. Hehe. anyway, I thought it was an okaish deal.

In my pc I got 2 processers...................
in two different computers and they almost never go down, but if one does the other always works fine and I get the other up and running.
:P
I like Mac's, I like AMD and ATI. I've never owned anything made by them but competition is what makes things better.
Mac may end up using Intel based chips in a few years and that would make things very interesting and hopefully the cost would come down.
Depending on prices, my next rig may be AMD. Dollar per dollar AMD seems to beat intel in gaming and I don't really care too much about
most other performance comparisons.
ATI has caught up and killed Nvidia. I think Nvidia with their frequent driver updates and wide line of cards is a better company.
My next card though, may be that ATI AIW cuz it does everything. Unless that NV30 comes in with a performance boost and a price that doesn't make me go back to creative Ramen dinners. :munch:
As any basic Marketing/ business major can tell you, there are always 2 brands that dominate any product. The dominant "Brand A" and the "Brand B." Coke and Pepsi, Nike and Reebok, Mercedes and BMW, Britney and Christina........ Perseption is everything and usually dictates what brand is better selling. Does coke really taste better than Pepsi? It definitely outsells it.
Competition keeps prices down and makes products better. Just look at our American made cars. Much better now due to the competition from foreign made cars.
In closing I think that pc people should applaud Mac at every turn. If a lot of people switch over than it could mean better pricing on pc parts later. Of course it could just kill off smaller pc parts vendors and cause prices to skyrocket on certain items.
So who knows
