I've lost the menu options when I double-click a folder. The File, Edit, View are gone, so are the buttons.
What can I do to get them back?!
If I right-click and "Explore" the folder, all is normal... but when I double-click... just a plain window with icons... no command features.
This is driving me nuts. Please give me some ideas.
Thanks!
Dave.

Can you find a little tab for it somewhere? Sometimes I accidentally drag the whole bar somewhere else and it would dissapear. If you see a tab just drag it back up top... other than that

if what sho said doesn't work, try this:
Run IE and type in the address field "C:\"
does that bring it back?
Try loging into another account, does it work now?

I tried to drag down, no luck.
Logging on as Administrator worked.
Is there a way to apply the settings of the Admin account to the other accounts?
Thanks guys... I'm almost there. Any more ideas?
Dave.

Thanks... if you remember it, please let me know.
In the mean time, if I may just bite the bullet and create a new user account and do all the e-mail/web/shortcut setup there. Any new user I create seems to work just fine.

copy the local user settings from your admin account over :(
Also, maybe simple, but have you tried using ALT to get to the menu, then going to View->Folder Options and then restoring all the defaults? go through and delete some desktop.ini files? Unlikely but maybe it will work.

Thanks...
Actually... my fiancee managed to figure it out. I don't know how. And she doesn't exactly remember. But, I believe she did something with the view options while in IE.
Unfortunately, the ALT key didn't seem to work... I was thinking along those lines, too. That one really threw me for a loop.
Where do I hand in my manhood? I felt so useless :P !
Thanks for taking the time to offer up the ideas, all.
I'm glad it's resolved.
Dave.
