Anyone useing lindows?
if so what do you think of it?

I haven't used it. . . but its a stupid idea I think. Why pay for a something that should be free. Mandrake or redhat are way better and the only thing I heard that lindows is better at is speed of installation. . . thats about it.
Lindows = Redhat for suckers.
All I know about it is that its the os that Walmart is putting on it's $200 PCs, and they charge another hunderd for automatic updates.
I thought Lindows was a cool idea till I read bout the pay-per-program ****. Totally insane.

wow... an linux based OS JUST LIKE WINDOWS without the compatibility...

I remember reading an article (http://www.usatoday.com/life/cyber/tech/review/2002/2/01/spotlight.htm) a while ago about how Lindows was supposed to be completely Windows compatible but Linux-based. A great idea, to be sure.
From what I've seen so far with these Wal-Mart PCs, it's a far cry from what they set out to do.
On a side note, has anyone thought about buying one of these cheapie Wal-Mart units and loading up XP or even 98?
