cuz i'd rather spend $300 on something else...:P even if i had that sort of money, i'd probably use it to buy a new cpu/mobo. but i don't, so i won't. heh.

My friend bought a set of the 2.1's right speaker blew out on him within a week. And about the 680s, imho a 5.1 setup for a computer is sort of useless. Speakers are so close together as it is the center channel is sort of useless. It would be handier in larger environments, but then the speakers are just to small then to pump out sound for a larger space.

I had the Z560s. Twice. Notice the had. They blew out twice. The first time they were being used in a party which isn't so bad. However, the second time I was listening to music quietly. Heck my TV was louder. The second pair was about 6-8 months old. The Z560s have a tendancy to blowout, though they rock when working. Some people had no problems with them, but there are more blowouts on these things than normal.
I just got the Z640s. They're not "THX" certified, but they sound great and I haven't read any blowouts, though they are new.
Just my experiences.
