View Full Version : Cornell University Debating Whether To Sell Vibrators
Gannett: Cornell University Health Services is currently debating whether to sell vibrators in their dispensary.
"This comes out of many conversations between myself and people in the LGBT community about how to improve Gannett's services and make it more affirming of women's sexuality," Somjen Frazer '03 said, who is the main researcher for the Women's Health Initiative (WHI).

Ever been to Cornell?
Ever hear about the amount of Lesbians in the Cornell Community?
You'd understand this if you ever have....
(on a side note-Cornell has a beautiful campus..lots of hills, some beautiful old buildings, gorges that go right through the campus that are deep enough that once a small plane flew under a walking bridge in the middle of campus. They have AMAZING orchards up the hill closer to the Vet Center, and their football stadium is classic old money..It's a great place to go to see the Big Red play a game..)

Yeah...the gorges :D Cornell has/had a high suicide rate. Around 1 a year. I think they even have safety nets in there.
Also, Big Red WHAT?
;)
Sorry, I used to be in the Brown University Band and we'd make fun of them. hehehe. But seriously, that campus is nice, if only it wasn't 4 hours away from civilization.

"I think one of the most important things is for women to be able to get themselves off. It's better than going to the sketchy shop downtown where they have to check the batteries for you," Sara Jacobs '05 said.
At least they have the right priorities!

Yeh, Cornell always needs a new crop of lesbians..and let's just say the Bic Disposable sales in the area are always WAYYYYY DOWN.
Yes, since only lesbians use vibrators.

Don't worry, I'm sure they'd sell one to you if you ask nicely.

Cornell's trademark color is red; it and its sports teams are often called "The Big Red".

from the article
Through her research, Frazer works closely with Gannett to find ways to serve women whose health care "has been historically undeserved."
Wow, women's health care is undeserved?
Hah!
typos suck
Anyway, back to the topic at hand. Does health care include the most intimate aspects of sexual health? This is an interesting question. Condoms have been freely distributed by schools for a long time. But this was done to prevent disease and pregnancy, not blatantly for sexual gratification. Selling vibrators takes it to a higher level. What's next, hookers for the nerds who can't get laid?
edit: fixed goddamn tags

Think of it this way though... wouldn't self gratification lower the rate of pregnancies and STDs? Heck, it is even safer than condoms. :D It's very different than hiring prostitutes for nerds because that would spread disease. I don't see the correlation between the two.
