Thanks dude, this looks great! I'm definitely getting this. 7200 rpm and 2mb cache, mmm... i'm worried, though, because both of the MIRs want the original UPC. however, right on the compusa site they're telling you to get both, so there's got to be some way to do it -- even if you have to harrass them by phone. anyone been through this before? i think there was a similar issue with the 60gb maxtor that was posted a few weeks ago in got deals.
thanks.
EDIT: also be warned there's about $5 shipping (at least in CA) and $15 in taxes, but still a good deal IMHO

everyone at fw and anandtech is confirming that bestbuy has this drive at $99.99 out the door no rebates. Unadvertised deal.

What does that mean? Is that only in stores? It's definitely still $179 on the website: Best Buy - 120GB Maxtor (http://www.bestbuy.com/Detail.asp?m=488&cat=511&scat=512&e=11181914)
I would really apprecite info on this since I just bought it off CompUSA and need to try to cancel it if this is in fact legit. $99 w/o shipping and not having to fuss with rebates would be even cooler.
Thanks!

There is nothing in today's paper about that deal, either. And I don't ever remember BestBuy stores having unadvertised specials, except for their clearance items.
The closest thing that I see is a 60GB HD for $99.99 and two $20 rebates=$59.99
