You know how when you move at least one thing gets lost? In my case, I lost my little bag of computer screws. I needed to install a CDRW and I had no screws! :( I went off in search of a store that sells them only to find that, apparently, selling computer screws is illegal in WA state. I did find one tech in a computer store that gave me a bag of 4, so at least I could get the CDRW installed.

I came home and ORDERED screws (among other things). I feel like I've let my fellow geeks down...

/me hides now.

wtf, why is that illegal? i mean, i'm sure there is a hardware store in Washington that sells bigger screws, why can't you sell smaller, less dangerous ones?

they've been outlawed since there is a stong link between computer screws and terrorists....

Perhaps Dell is trying to corner the market on computer screws.

I have lived in WA St. all my life and have never heard anything about this. I've bought some computer screws from comp stores before and they never said anything about it. I think someone was just feeding you a line of BS :D

You can get some mighty fine refurbished screws from Dell. (Yes, REFURBISHED screws.) I dunno what was wrong with 'em or how Dell fixed 'em, but they have a 90 day warranty. They're now on sale for $0.04 each (down from $0.05 each).

I ordered one a while ago just for kicks when they had a free shipping deal. Paid $0.05 for the screw. It cost them something like $0.50 to ship it in a nice padded box. I was quite amused.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here guys, but it SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEMS that saying the screws were illegal was a manner of speech as no one sells them.

I would just borrow screws from other parts of the case. Am I the only one who thinks 4 screws is too much to mount anything?

For some reason, I'm thinking he was being sarcastic, saying it was illegal. :heh:

I think he was being sarcastic as well... since when were the bigger screws more dangerous than the smaler ones?

Heh... thankfully I save all the leftover screws that come with new computer cases when I build.

With all these little screws... I shall one day RULE THE WORLD!

BWAAA HAA HAA HAA... :bigmouth:

:hmm:

(Ooops... did I say that out loud. Pardon me...)

:wavey:

*GASP*

I've stolen all the erasers from all of the world's golf pencils and derive my evil supernatural powers from them. Yet with all those screws you might be able to overthrow me as the world's most devious, cold-hearted, world-domination-seeking villian. NO!! THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE! Thus a new rivalry has begun, the likes of which the world has never seen... the likes of which the world may not survive...
