Wow. Are we sure that all of the rebates will work together?

Yes the deal was good, called dell...but it expired at 11 pm ct. Dell stamps your order time right on the reciept. Hard to argue for a rebate, when ya purchesed it late.

Being a student, even part time, you qualify. I take 1 class every year for employment purposes. I might get to cash in on there student deals n the future. Whoo hoo.

A 2.4 with a the MX video card. just what i was looking for.

i think that it expires at midnight. i live in the west and the rebate forms only say must be purchased by the 26th. no central time disclaimer.

trying to see if this will work with the 4550. dont need rd ram and i want that optional 9700TX radeon for $133.

2.4 Gig P4, 30 gig Hd, 256 RD ram, 9700 TX (for myself) and a burner.
$1030 or so!
Used my FedEx account to save on shipping ($30 to ship).
Total $1060 Shipped!
$710 in MIRs + $140 and my old ti200 for that 9700 (Works out nicely for us both).
Total cost after rebates for Dads new rig =$210

Might need more ram and will add a HD when I can get $1 or less a gig.

Dont know how Dell does it but that makes 5 systems bought from them this past year. No complaints from any of my family members so far.

the time disclaimer was on the "pop-up" window. At least, on my cpu. If they give you any greif, let me know. There was also another disclaimer about only "qualified" students. Leading me to think that the university had to be on the good list.

Still a super, deal. Find this deal again. (please dell do it again)

I got this early yesterday and my system is already in testing status. At AT hot deals forum, one guy has already called a Dell CSR while he checked his shipping method and he was told that all 5 rebates are valid, for a total of $710. I guess the other $50 extended warranty rebate works too since it showed up when ordering, but I didn't get that one.

Great deal: $951 - $710 MIRs = $241 + $79 tax + $22 FedEx ground shipping for a P4 2.4, R9700TX 128MB, 256MB PC1066 RDRAM, 30GB HD, SB Live! 5.1, cheapie 30GB HD, modem, 16X DVD-ROM, plus WinXP and Works 2002 (includes Word XP).

edit: Mine shipped this afternoon. Just 24 hours between confirmation email and shipping. Sweet.

How long will this deal last? Or is it dead already?

Just last night my son said he wished we could get a better computer for $150. Too bad I didn't know about this last night, I guess he wasn't far off.

Well seeing as how he raised me and fed me and gave me place to stay............

I see no reason why to tell him there were any rebates at all.
;)

Hopefully no problems with the rebates.

Looking forward to the new card. I think that 9700TX is just a 9700. In reviews that card was slightly slower than the pro and beat my ti4600 pretty soundly.

I got the 8250 system on friday. The 9700 TX is almost like a regular 9700, but the "TX" part of the name means Theater Mode. That allows DVD playback on both the monitor and TV at the same time. I read that in the delltalk forums from one of the mods.

The clock speeds on the 9700 TX are 263/523, compared to 275/550 for the regular 9700 and 325/620 on the 9700 Pro. The memory installed on mine is Infineon 3.6ns BGA memory.

There are a couple of quirks so far on this card. It doesn't use the same BIOS as the 9700 or 9700 Pro. Newer drivers than what come with the system (6193) don't seem to work right. I believe there is a BIOS problem since the card reverts to no acceleration on reboot with newer drivers, the Adapter String is blank in display properties and Madonion ORB reports the card as Generic VGA and doesn't let you publish the results. This also causes all overclocking utilities to not improperly recognize the card and fail to read the speeds. I think all are caused by the same BIOS problem.

If you can find an Infineon R300 BIOS image, you'd lose the Theater Mode feature, but you'd be able to overclock the card.
