View Full Version : Audio Editing Software

I was wondering if anyone knew what software I could use to edit audio. For example, if I wanted to loop only a certain passage of music or if I wanted to fade in and out a certain portion of a song or do a compilation.
Can this be done right in Flash. And even so, is there software that is better or easier to use?
Oh, I will be using this for the web...sites, ecards, etc.

I have always used Cooledit. The version that I'm using now (Cooledit 2000Pro) is three years old, yet supports most modern file formats. Best of all-its really easy to use.

Yep, I LOOOOOVE cool edit. It may be a little overkill for what you need, but man, cool edit 2.0. . . oh so great. Its near like the photoshop of audio files, hehe.

Soundforge is another you can try. I find it to be the best, but it might be a little pricey.

Another vote for CoolEdit 2000. I use it to master CDs and mixes of my kids' school concerts.

I've been using SoundForge for years myself and I prefer it, but I have friends who swear by Cool Edit, so its really whatever you can afford or "find."

Thanks for everyone's input! I actually "got my hands on" both and will try them out. I actually need something where I can produce master quality tracks so I'm glad these pieces of software are high end.
