I am SOOOOOOO excited!
My hubby gave me a list of stuff he'd like for Christmas for me to give my mom. (She'd been asking)
He wanted the Band of Brothers but knew it was too expensive to get the whole set.
I just talked to my mother in law. We don't have a credit card (just a checkcard for our checking acct.)
She let me put it on her credit card and I'll make 2 payments to her for it. :)

oh, and plus, since it was her credit card, I was able to sign up as a new customer and got it for $15 cheaper. ;) So it was $66 instead of $80. :)
He is going to be thrilled!! :D
What are you getting your spouse/significant other for Chistmas?

I am truly stymied. I'm going to ask her tonight. On the otherhand, I have no problem letting her know what I want. She knows I don't like to spend any more than you have to for things and actually asked me for the URLs and any specific codes/coupons. I think I have a sickness. ;)

My wife is getting a Panasonic Mini Stereo system, a 100-pack of Imation CD-Rs and a box of 12 Bic pens.
Why the odd combination? Because the CD-Rs were free with the purchase of the stereo, and I had to buy the bic pens to get my total over $150 so I could use the "$20 off $150" coupon at Officemax.com! :D

positiverolemodel is getting:
3 pairs of gap boxer-briefs (hubba hubba)
an ocarina (he's been wanting onceever since we started playing music together 1-1/2 years ago, but has never gotten one)
a jack skellington coffee mug (because he likes coffee and he was dressed as jack skellington the night we hooked up at a halloween party)
only the mug is getting wrapped as a surprise... i already gave him the ocarina because it was so cool and i was so excited when i got it, and he already gave me mine - a they might be giants cd, another cd that i had been wanting (it turned out to kind of suck) and a chris thile mandolin instructional dvd that rocks. we're really bad at the whole waiting and surprising thing... same thing happened last year, only earlier.

i think i'm getting my GF an Eiffel Tower clock (she has her apartment decorated with Eiffel Tower stuff).
maybe some other stuff....i dunno.
i don't have that much money this year, having been unemployed and all, so that limits me a little bit :bawl:
I can't say, because he reads the forums.
I think he snooped and found one present already, so now I have to replace it with something else.

Mrs. Kevster already got her Christmas present from me this year (a couple of months early).
However she doesn't know that Lucy the Wiener-Dog (http://home1.gte.net/res0v5s2/lucy1a.jpg) "dug" these up in the yard and is waiting to give these to her on Christmas morning:

What's really cool is I have a card all ready to go with writing that looks like a 2-year old wrote it. It says, "I dug this up in the yard. It smelled good. I hope you like it. Love, Lucy" and has an authentic paw-print at the bottom.
What can I say? I worked really hard this year and I still have a job. I had to stifle my urges to get a new Athlon XP2400 and go to 9 different market research focus groups (Thank you Craigslist L.A.!) to get the money together for Lucy's little "find". They will go quite nicely with the 12mm black pearl pendant Mrs. Kevster got in Tahiti.
Best thing of all is she doesn't suspect a thing... :D

I got my wife a plane ticket to Denver to see a friend, although the trip is next weekend. She doesn't want anything else but I am going to put up some crown-molding in our living room while she's gone. Funny how different we are, I ask for everything under the sun and she really doesn't want anything.

Same here.
All she wants is like stuff for the house. So I'm getting us pillows.

Unfortunately, no. They would have cost me considerably less. These are from a cartier catalog. I had my jeweler, Sol, create them. The earrings she's getting are almost exact copies of the ones in the image. The black pearls she is getting are approximately 10mm in diameter and are dark grey/black with a satin finish and a blue-green tint to them. The ones in the picture are a lighter tint of green than the ones she is getting. I had to get ones that matched her pendant's black pearl color well.
If I am going to just get jewelry, I'd go to an auction and see what I could get. These earrings were a different matter altogether and required Sol - who is an excellent jeweler and an artist.
Here's a link to his website if anyone in L.A. is looking for an excellent and reasonable jeweler (in the jewelry district in Downtown L.A.).

I think I'll get my GF a... Wait a minute! Don't got one of those! Guess that means double the gifts for myself. MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! :hehehmm:

Basically most of the money saved up goes to that :P So no gifts for anyone this year, just a card.

Congrats to you too! You'll be getting your 1st year anniversary around the time we get married. That's awesome!

Wooo, Lanai. I've never heard of that destination. Is it more of a couples getaway type of place? I've been told that Maui was, which is why I was considering.
I also found a 11-day cruise to Hawaii (on Norwegian) for about 1k per person. Sounds like a good deal, what do you think?
