My boss is a total star trek freak-he has a poster of the ship (enterprise)(enterprize-whatever) hanging over his desk..
Apparently he thinks that he is the only one who knows where to find answers....here are all the questions he asked ....this is an 8 week scavenger hunt type thingy...these are from this week-week one.
1- What building was used as the Wonka factory in the movie "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"?
2- Who was Charlie Brown's favorite baseball player?
3- What date was the first scheduled Air Mail Service in the country?
4- In 1992, the world's smallest battery was announced. What power could be attained from it?
5- What was the first US coin to bear the motto "In God We Trust"?
6- In all of the Star Trek shows and movies, which character was never given a first name?
7- What show has the honors of showing the first interracial kiss to be
aired on American network television?
8- What do Dan Ackroyd, Pamela Anderson, and Princess Diana have in common?
9- Provide a weblink to a page containing a picture of a monkey riding a dog like a jockey rides a horse.
10- Provide a weblink to a page containing a picture a fish trapped in ice
(no sketches, no fish at market. Real fish, solid ice).
I submitted my answers on time..and he msg'd me back right away saying I got them all right..now we wait for week two..*rubs hands greedily*

I'm not sure which is sadder, that you knew where to look this up, or that I didn't need to.

Isn't the answer to that Star Trek TOS? I'm thinking it was a kiss between Uhura and Kirk...correct me if I'm wrong.

If I remember correctly, it was Joe. The joke was after going through all the trouble to come up with a unique/fitting name he wound up picking plain old Joe.

I'm trying to find the doctor's first name, but instead found these interesting tidbits of Voyager:
Originally, the holographic doctor's name was supposed to be "Dr. Zimmerman". When the doctor's name was dropped, however, they forgot to remove it from several of the early episodes "closed caption" scripts. If you turn on that feature, you'll see the mistake.
Kate Mulgrew (Capt. Janeway) and Tim Russ (Tuvok) both appeared in the "Roots" TV miniseries episode "The Gift" which aired in 1988. LeVar Burton (Geordi LaForge) from Star Trek: The Next Generation and Avery Brooks (Capt. Sisko) from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine also appeared in the program. Freaky huh?
Originally, Genevieve Bujold was supposed to play the role of Captain Janeway, but she quit after filming the first episode for only a few days.
When auditioning for the part of the holographic doctor, Robert Picardo was asked to say the line "Somebody forgot to turn off my program". He did so, ad-libbed "I'm a doctor, not a light bulb" and that got him the part.
Each of the three Star Trek series after the original "Star Trek" (1966) has had a cameo appearance by a character from its predecessor series in its premiere episode: "Star Trek: The Next Generation" had Dr. McCoy, "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" had Captain Picard, and "Star Trek: Voyager" had Quark.
King Abdullah of Jordan (Actually, he was Crown Prince at the time) appeared in episode #36 "Investigations. He couldn't speak any lines though because he wasn't a member of the "Screen Actors Guild". If you want to look for him, he played a crewmember in the sciences division.

4. In 1992 A research team at the University of California, Irvine, headed by assistant professor of chemistry Reginald Penner, have built what they claim is the world's smallest battery.
Called a "nanometer-scale galvanic cell," this mini-powerhouse measures 70 nanometers (billionths of a meter), which is about one-hundredth the diameter of a red blood cell.
The battery is composed of minute pillars of copper and silver deposited on a graphite surface using a scanning tunneling microscope, and generates 20 thousandths of a volt for 45 minutes when the surface is immersed in a dilute copper-plating solution.
It is composed of less than 500,000 atoms.
The cell lacks any immediate application as a power source, but the battery's creators suggest it can provide an atomic-level view of the oxygen/iron corrosion process

You just insist on making me get my geek on, don't you?
You mean Enterprise. And, in the first episode, there is a dedication by Zephram Cochrane, who was in First Contact when they went back in time - before the start of Enterprise. So in a way, they kept up the tradition.

I was about to say, if Voyager was a prequel, I was missin' out on some mighty important stuff after watching probably 90% of the episodes.
Anyone watch Enterprise? I'm wondering if the show's worth watching, methinks some new opening music would attract some former ST fans...
