Welp, we got our normal shifts today. I'll be working 4 10's M, Th, F, and Sa. This starts tomorrow, so I get 10hrs of OT on my 1st check :D

The job is going well enough I suppose. Nothing exciting, but I'll be exposed to a lot more software that I've wanted to work with - Citrix, Siebel, a couple others - so this should turn out to be a good resume job.

In Washington, does overtime only count if it is over 40+ hours a week? In California, if you work more than 8 hours a day, it is considered overtime whether or not it comes to more than 40 hours a week.

Yup - OT is more than 40hrs in a week in WA state. I know I can certainly use the extra coupe hundred bucks on my paycheck about now...

Wait... how do you get overtime working 4 10 hour days a week?

OC, I haven't heard of those softwares before what are they? Also, what's your workstation like. Do you get your own laptop?

Citrix is a front end client to databases, among other things. Very popular in the business world.

Yeah, it was very popular a couple of years ago...it allows a "thin client" front end. Their stock was in the stratosphere as well.

Unfortunately, since more applications are being built w/a web front-end, its usefulness is diminishing.
