I really like the canon brand camcorders. The sony's have too much of a "cool" picture. Perhaps for under the $1000 range you could get an optura 100MC. But its hard to recommend a camcorder without knowing any specifics besides price.

i second the opinion on the canons. they have excellent features as well as a great picture.

Well if size is an issue difinitely check out the elura and optura line then. But keep in mind the smaller the camcorder, the harder it is to keep a steady shot. The ZR series cams are pretty good. Some key features would be the optical zoom, not digital. What type of stabilization, optical is WAY better than digital stabilization. Most importantly the camera has to feel good in your hands. If you have a fry's or similar store near by go to one and go nuts on all the cameras and see which ones feel good. Then compare the features.

if your going for porn, i sugget the porn-matic adjustible robot-bed. it frees you of the camera duty which enables you to partake in the festivities. you are able to choose the powers of the robot or just go with the factory defaults. are you going to choose the robot's powers? And if so, what kind of powers would you have? Do you use them for good, or for awesome? The vibrating power is always fun, although you have to have quarters to make it work.

also, i suggest you get at least 3 cameras for such purposes. multiple angles are always much better than one static shot.
very good point. all them newer dvd porno's offer multi-angle scenes now, don't they?

just a little note: canon has a softer lens, the sony's have a sharper lens...

if it makes any difference to you.

Man, this leaves me wishing that Santa would spend up to $1000 on me. :(

Lucky man, lucky!
