View Full Version : 5.25" USB enclosure

ok. so if i go off for grad school, i'm thinking i might want to pull out my 32x CD-RW from my desktop, pop it in an external USB enclosure, and hook it up to my laptop. first of all, is that a viable option? second, do any of you know where i can find a USB external case for one? thanks.

first off, are you going to be using USB 2.0? If not, i suggest that you pickup an adaptor for either usb2 or firewire.

there are all kinds of 5.25" drives. try searching the forums here or at my website. they pop up on deal every so often. i dont kno wmuch on USB enclosures because i prefer firewire, so i cant really tell you which chipset is better or which enclosure is better
