my GREATEST GIFT-GIFT ever was a wooden box-peg board on one side, chalk board on the other it opened up and had chalk inside, and a small silver hammer and some pegs for the pegboard..I was about 5, I got it from my oldest brother, and for some reason I've never forgot about that gift...I actually still have it.

but my greatest gift is seeing that my grown children know the true meaning of christmas. :)

a crayola "learn to be a draftsman" set that my parents got me when i was like 11.

at that point in my life, i was convinced that when i grew up, i was going to design cars for GM. so i absolutely lusted after this drafting kit thing from the time i first saw it.

my family was pretty poor at that point and even though it probably only cost $12 or something, it was stretching my parents' price range, and i knew it. so even though i really really really wanted it, i didn't think i was actually going to get it.

so when christmas morning came and it was under the tree, i think i was the happiest kid in america :D

i grew up with 2 brothers, and always felt left out whenever they'd play cops and robbers. So, when i found a pair of pink handled cowgirl guns in the store, i begged and begged and begged for them. i was really sad that i didn't get them for christmas, but my dad surprised me with them a few days after christmas ("a gift that santa forgot to bring"), and boy was i thrilled!! :-p i had a great time playing with my brothers that year...

I got an Apple IIc one Christmas when I was 11, and I've been a nerd ever since :D

Vodka. Definitly Vodka. Christmas came a little early this year though.

For me, it probably would have to be either the ATI All-in-Wonder 128 video card I got one year, or the Soundblaster AWE32 card (I remember opening up the AWE32 many years ago, and when I unwrapped it, my jaw hit the floor once I saw how HUUUUUUUUGE that card was).
