i just noticed a few days ago that all the animated gifs that i see are all frozen on one frame. i couldnt find any option to switch this on. any ideas on how to fix this?

I've had this problem for years. It will load and show the animation only once.
I wonder if its my firewall/adblocker, since it did it with Win2000 and ie5 and WinXP and ie6.
There is a checkbox in the options to load or not load animated gifs, but it doesn't fix the problem.

i remember an option to turn it on or of, but i cant find it anymore. this just started a few days ago, it may have started when i upgraded zonealarm, but im not sure.

I have the same problem but I solve it by using Mozilla! :D

i figured it out and it was zonealarm. apparently its part of the ad blocking options to stop all animations. probably because of those seziure inducing flashing ads. other za settings have been messing with my cookies as well. hopefully i got it all figured out now

Yeap it happened to me so I removed ZoneAlarm for now. I'm still using the router NAT protection.

I'm still using the router NAT protection. i didnt have to remove za to fix this. i just had to uncheck the option to stop animations. this also changes other settings as well. for example when i click the "mark this forum read" link at the top of any forum it takes me back to the forums home page, not the forum where i was. i actually like it better this way, but i couldnt figure out why this was happening until yesterday
