ok here's the situation. At work I use wink2pro and I telnet, and I love how the telnet automaticlly does ansi and display colors and generally looks spiffy. I come home and telnet, and I can change the colors, and the background colors, but it won't automatically detect or do any of the cool things that the win2kpro telnet will do. So I figured I could go to microsoft's site for a little help, unforntunately, all of it's for win2k. I'm running ME. bleh. so I've asked around, and i've tried secure CRT 4.0 for about a minute. I'm weary of installing the old one 3.x because i don't want to install soemthing if it doesn't do what i want it to. I've tried Putty, (from OC) and it's pretty ok, but it doesn't automaticlly detect, and it doesn't display my text as I write.

So I ask everyone for some recommendations.
what I'd like:

automatic detect of ANSI graphics
display text as i type

thanks!

I used to use Koalaterm (http://www.tucows.com/preview/195261.html) & I liked it quite a bit, but that was mostly for serial connections.

I would suggest going to a shareware site like Tucows (http://www.tucows.com/) & search for Telnet programs. Try a few out & see which one fits...

I have used the programs listed below

QVT/Term
HyperTerminal

I liked QVT better than Hyper terminal and also there is a telnet command in windows too

type telnet servernameorip.com and yout are there

I have been using and deploying NetTerm32 for about 3 years now. Great program that is highly customizable and cheap (but not free, though I have seen codes for it all over the net).

We use it to connect to our Unix & AS400 systems and several banks.
